2019 State Championships wrap up

WHAT A SEASON!

A big congratulations to every Footscray team and player who played in the 2019 State Championship season. It’s been another great season with many great moments to remember.
A big thank you to every single person involved in our club who helps out, organising teams, coaching, managing, doing the table, etc.. our club would be lost without you.

Footscray finished off the years with 3/6 teams making it all the way to the Grand Final, and 2/3 of the teams finished with one last win!

  • Womens SL1 - 2019 Premiers

  • Womens SL2 - finished fifth

  • u18 Girls - 2019 runner up

  • u16 Girls - finished sixth

  • Mens SL2 - 2019 Premiers

  • u16 Boys - finished eighth


We have some very talented players within our club, claiming the below awards from Water Polo Victoria for their outstanding seasons:

  • Highest Goal Scorer, Womens State League 1 - Emily McGowan

  • Highest Goal Scorer, u18 Girls - Steph Jacobson

  • Highest Goal Scorer, Mens State League 2 - Jamie Ogilvie-Lee

  • Most Valuable Player, Mens State League 2 - Jamie Ogilvie-Lee

Our club ‘Drownlow’ (Most Valuable Player) awards was held the day after, on Sunday 8th December at Rosamond Bowls Club to celebrate the year that was and to present our MVP’s with their awards. Please join me in congratulating all our award winners, listed below:
